Radical prostatectomy (prostate cancer)

Surgical procedure to remove the prostate as part of the treatment of localized prostate cancer.

2 to 4 hours

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP)

The reference endoscopic treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia, performed through the natural passages without any incision.

About 1 hour

Nephrectomy (kidney removal)

Total or partial removal of a kidney, performed preferably laparoscopically, to treat a tumor or a non-functioning kidney.

Kidney stone surgery (lithotripsy)

Modern treatment of urinary stones by laser fragmentation, performed through the natural passages in the vast majority of cases.

Ureteroscopy

Endoscopic exploration of the ureter and kidney through the natural passages, for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

Cystectomy (bladder cancer)

Surgical removal of the bladder as part of the treatment of bladder tumors, with reconstruction of a new urinary pathway.

Urinary incontinence surgery

Surgical treatment of urinary leakage, notably by placement of suburethral slings, after a complete urodynamic assessment.

Surgery for urogenital malformations

Surgical correction of congenital abnormalities of the urinary and genital tract, in children as well as adults.

A short and common procedure to remove the foreskin, performed under optimal surgical conditions.
