Trauma surgery (fractures, dislocations)
Management of trauma emergencies: fractures, dislocations, severe sprains and limb wounds, with round-the-clock availability.
What is it?

When is it indicated?
After a fall or accident, a broken bone must be put back in the correct position and then immobilized or fixed surgically to heal properly.
A dislocated joint must be put back in place quickly to relieve the pain and avoid complications. Management is provided on an emergency basis.
When ligaments are torn, simple immobilization is not always enough: a specialist assessment determines whether a repair is necessary to keep the joint stable.
Sports injuries, from ligaments to fractures, benefit from management tailored to the goal of returning to physical activity.
A deep wound can involve tendons, nerves or blood vessels: it must be explored and repaired in the operating theater to preserve the function of the limb.
After a major accident, a complete work-up with imaging ensures that no injury is missed and that care is organized in the right order.
Preparation
Procedure
Reception at the emergency department and immediate assessment of the injury
Rapid pain relief
Diagnostic imaging (X-rays, CT scan if necessary)
Reduction and immobilization, or decision for surgical treatment
Operation in the operating theater if the injury requires it
Post-operative monitoring and follow-up instructions
Organization of rehabilitation and radiological checks
Duration
Variable depending on the injury, from simple immobilization to an operation of 1 to 2 hours
Aftercare & Recovery
A fracture heals in a few weeks to a few months depending on the bone involved and the patient's age. Rehabilitation then makes it possible to recover mobility and strength. Regular follow-up verifies that healing is progressing well until full return to activities.
Risks and side effects
These risks remain rare. Your surgeon will inform you in detail before the procedure.
