Minimally invasive cardiac surgery

Minimally invasive cardiac surgery consists of performing certain cardiac procedures through small incisions, without fully opening the chest. The surgeon reaches the heart through a limited approach, often between the ribs, using specially designed instruments and optimised visualisation. This approach offers several advantages for eligible patients: reduced post-operative pain, more discreet scars, an often shorter hospital stay and a quicker return to daily activities.
