Rhinoplasty (nose surgery)

Rhinoplasty is the cosmetic surgery procedure that reshapes the nose to harmonise it with the rest of the face: correction of a hump, refinement of the tip, straightening of a deviation or reduction of the overall size. It can be combined with a functional procedure on the nasal septum (septoplasty) when breathing is impaired. Every rhinoplasty is unique: analysis of the face, its proportions and the patient's wishes guides a personalised surgical plan, discussed in consultation using photographs and, depending on the case, simulations. The goal is a natural result, in keeping with each person's personality and features. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia, using a closed approach (incisions hidden inside the nostrils) or an open approach depending on the corrections required. Current techniques, known as preservation rhinoplasty, respect the natural structures of the nose as much as possible for a gentler recovery.
