Breast reduction

Reduction of overly heavy breasts to relieve the back and regain a proportionate, lifted and harmonious bust.

What is it?

Breast reduction is intended for women whose overly large breasts (breast hypertrophy) cause back, neck and shoulder pain, irritation in the inframammary fold, discomfort during sport and difficulty finding clothes. It is a surgery that is both functional and aesthetic, and its patients report being among the most satisfied. The procedure removes the excess gland, fat and skin, lifts the areola into the correct position and reshapes a lighter breast, shapely and in proportion to the figure. Symmetry is carefully checked during the operation. The scars, located around the areola and vertically below it, sometimes extended into the fold, fade progressively and remain concealed in underwear. Relief from back pain is felt very quickly after the operation. At Clinique Pasteur Tunis, breast reduction is performed by experienced plastic surgeons, with a short hospital stay, attentive pain management and support for healing through to the final result.
Breast reduction

When is it indicated?

Breast hypertrophy with back, neck or shoulder pain

When the weight of the bust pulls on the back, neck and shoulders day after day, lightening it relieves this pain very quickly.

Irritation or chafing in the inframammary fold

A heavy bust encourages redness and irritation under the breasts, especially in hot weather; the reduction makes this discomfort disappear.

Discomfort during sport and in daily life

Running, playing sport or simply finding suitable clothes becomes difficult; the procedure restores ease and freedom of movement.

Significant breast asymmetry

When one breast is noticeably larger than the other, the reduction restores a symmetrical, balanced bust.

Aesthetic and psychological impact of an overly large bust

Unwanted stares, difficulty dressing, distress: breast reduction restores physical comfort and self-confidence.
