Post-operative follow-up care

After a surgical procedure, some care requires a medical environment without warranting hospitalisation: complex dressings, removal of stitches, staples or drains, wound-healing monitoring, aspirations or close clinical check-ups. The day hospital makes it possible to provide this care under the best conditions, during a short, scheduled visit. These sessions ensure continuity between the surgical stay and the return to normal life. The care team, in liaison with the surgeon, monitors the progress of wound healing, adjusts local care and checks for the absence of complications. It is also an opportunity for patients to ask any questions about their recovery. If needed, additional examinations can be arranged during the same visit: samples taken on site, an ultrasound or a consultation with the surgeon. This organisation avoids back-and-forth trips and secures the post-operative period.
